Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA
Is your local coop CHS owned, or a CHS affiliate?
I’m guessing, just based on proximity, that you do indeed get fuel from a CHS refinery. Here in the PNW, Cenex branded fuel does not necessarily mean it came from one of their refineries.

There is likely more to the story. It would be interesting to find out what it is.

The resolutions adopted at the last annual meeting are supportive to ethanol.

CHS also owns and operates two ethanol plants:

I don’t know their status on RIN waivers, if they took them or why. So, it’s speculation on my part, but it may be a case like the relationship of farmers and subsidies. Even the anti-subsidy farmers pretty much have to take the subsidies when everyone else does, just to be competitive and stay in the game. Standing by your principles isn’t that helpful if government policy will then put you out of business.

So I’m not sure that I’d paint the entire organization as anti-ethanol. We need Paul Harvey back to get us the rest of the story.
