How do some guys perceive the op as whining or complaining?

Your job as a manager of your assets is to maximize utility. Some guys get a raging one from driving a tractor. Others get their’s from seeing their balance sheet grow.

If I make 10x more money by quitting than farming, I have to be honest with myself that I’m willing to sacrifice that to remain out here.


To the op...I would sell as little as possible and still make all the new investments you are talking about. Maybe rent the farm out but don’t sell...?

Guys have told me they made more renting their farm out than they did just farming it. Think passive income and time to manage other assets better.

Of course to the guys who are a young farmer or struggling one, none of this applies
