Subject: RE: Bulk Commodity Growers,,,why Farm?........

Effingham County
"Times have always been tough on the farm, but tomorrow things will be better". This is a quote from a farm magazine in the 1920's on farm conditions in in the aftermath of WWI. They did not know about the depression that was to come in the '30's. We do not know what the future holds either but if my fore bearers had given up the farm we would not still be here today. I do know that at the height of the Great Depression many former prosperous business men and woman were grateful to my grandfather for allowing them to make garden plots in his cow pasture on the outside of town so they could grow their own food to eat! Grandad never had much but he had the farm and had food to eat. Yes, I know the farm must turn a profit but never forget it is a lifestyle choice as well. Where do you wish to be a year from now? What would you like to be doing? If you can answer those two questions you know what steps you need to take today to get there.
