I would be the first to agree with Denninger on this if it were happening. We have data that shows household and corporate debt are well under control. Yes debt is at an all time high but not in percentage terms. Net worth, savings, the stock market, and gdp are also at or near all time highs.

The household debt to gdp chart is a little misleading because it starts in 2005 and was much lower in the past but, the US is at about 77%, Canada is at 100%, and Australia is around 120%. Also because of the paradox of thrift personal and corporate debt are not bad things up to a point.
