I can only hope I look half as good when I reach that age, (that is my plan)
As for her past and living with in-laws, I think that was the case in many homes in that era.
I was raised with my grandparents living with us for the first 6 or 7 years, then they went to live with their oldest son and help him raise his son since he was a single dad.
there were several other homes on this road with 3 generations in them after the war and I would think during and before it too.
Those of that age knew what doing without was and were glad of anything that came along to make life easier.
the 30ies prepared most people to live a frugal life. | |
