It is the artificial sweeteners that make your stomach upset. When I stopped eating all diet food I felt so much better hey. I am a type 2 diabetic also and every couple of months I get a hankering for pancakes and I use real maple syrup. The dark Amber grade prefer last boil of the season where it gets a little tree bark taste in it, mm mm good.
Real maple syrup makes my sugar go up just a little bit but I only use about 3 oz
