Vaccuming in my mind doesn't really "clean" them. Just sucks the dirt up. Depending on the classroom, spilt milk, multiple sick kids, etc could easily cause mold and at the very least odor issues. Maybe a talk with the cleaning staff to see just what is done in those "soaked carpet" situations.
