Was there a consensus on here as to why chicken meat is so tough nowadays?

Thanks man! That looks great. Appreciate the offer and wish I was close enough to take you up on that.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s hormones given to chickens down here that’s causing the issue. We have cooked the breast meat like mom would for dumplings when she was still alive. I think it was Brandon on here that also noted the change and toughness. Now if we cut into tenders and fry they come out fine. Might have to get a few baking hens and put them in the oven.

Back when dad was alive and in better health, he raised a lot of yard birds for eggs and meat. The hens were sure tender. Think I’ll try some Pilgrim’s Pride and see if those are any better.
