Just spent the better part of a week with a owner of a trucking company, that’s in the freight business, he told me that freight rates have been dropping for about six months, he suspects the exact same scenario you have just relayed for it.

Have another friend that also owns a small trucking company, mostly livestock hauling with a few dry vans, and a couple of hoppers.
He mentioned last spring that things were getting kinda slow in the livestock world, and that one of their bigger customers went to having their livestock hauled by a leasing company, so it didn’t take long for the stories to start. a couple weeks ago, after not hearing from the former customer for almost eight months, they got a couple loads, this week they got 10 loads from this former customer. The word is that the direction they went involving the leasing company hauling the hogs wasn’t very positive.
