Reading Mn | The price is decent now but there is going to be a lot seeded this yr.The price will be OK this yr but every blade of grass will be baled this yr.Quite a few acres of buffer strips will get baled this yr that wasn’t there previous yrs.Every Tom,Dick and Harry will be jumping onto hay to make the big money.There will be a lot more Low to med quality hay around.Supplies will go up and price will back off a little.
2020 alfalfa seeded this yr will be at full production.Hay stocks will rise .Price will fall.
And the cycle will continue just like it has for as long as I’ve been doing it.
The kiss of death to the hay price will be when all the farm magazines and U of M will be telling everyone to plant alfalfa. | |
