SW Ohio
I have been thinking along the same lines, I wonder if intra row competition is a problem in 30s. I am going to try some strips down to 60k-70k this year. I have some bushy types that I'm wondering if getting them 3 or so inches between plants will allow them to really branch and capture sunlight.
If nothing else if yield can be maintained at low pops it certainly helps profitability to plant half as much seed!
