Southeast WI | I'm lining up my on-farm trials for the season as I wind down on office work now. Dextrose is an easy trial to do with my planter - totally tubular in-furrow application with electric pump for delivery, separate tank on planter for the in-furrow and have other tanks for the 2*2 fertilizer. Typically put down 3 or 4 gal of fertilizer in-furrow but can go more volume if needed. Just need to crank up pressure a bit more and calibrate output.
So from your usage you apply 4 lbs Dextrose per acre? Is my volume of 4 gpa of water enough to keep it dissolved so it won't settle out? The in-furrow application equipment also has a return line to the tank so I get pretty good agitation when applying product. That was my main question. Are there other things I should be aware of to make this a fair trial? Not planning on mixing anything else with the dextrose since I'm testing that product. Whenever I test a product I ask the proponent of said product "how should I set this trial up to produce a correct comparison?" | |
