Considerable variability in a row vs smaller plot. Also don't know what kind/types of insect pressure you'll have this year.
Don't know who told you Bt will outyield with no pressure, best Bt can do is parity - rare usually try to get 98+% of base genetics. HXRW had a reputation for yield drag. Qrome is supposed to be better. First year planted SmartStax vs triple lost >20 bushel.
Lastly, would be little suspect about same hybrid w/wo traits, seed company might be using a sister line, but not a full twin.
