Subject: NH 575 Plunger - needle timing

Alberta, Canada
Servicing the balers and replaced some chains(original chains) and other stuff. When doing the chain by the flywheel i lined up the marks for the plunger and mark on the knotter. Ran it through a cycle checking stuff and noticed the plunger appears to be coming into the chamber early according to the book. When needle comes into the chamber the plunger is past 1.5 to 1.75". I assume it's the top of the rasied lip there not the actual bottom of case. I have 2 of these and checked the other baler and it's about the same. Used to check the old NH 278's and 320's but that was years back.

Anybody set these?? To be honest I haven't fooled with this one as It's always worked fine. The other one to come in yet to the shop was the one acting up last fall not this one.
