ESW ND | I agree. By time the ground and stuff is dry enough to even get at it. It also won't take long for those piles to start heating and sprouting then spoiling. I surely wouldn't want it. Now it would be interesting to be able to know the bushels affected and to see if there will be any reflection on the market prices. I honestly bet it will have no impact.

I would think vom., fuz, and other toxic molds are going to be growing in the grain if it sits any length of time, flood water can carry some pretty nasty stuff besides... Doubt many places would be to eager to even touch the stuff.
Because of the byproducts (distillers grains especially) I don't think ethanol plants want to mess with flooded corn, the ethanol process itself wouldn't be as affected but would generate a lot of waste product that couldn't be used for feed if they ran a bunch of corn like that. |
