I recently received my yearly patronage check from greenstone FCS. I have to admit it was a fairly big check and I'm pretty happy about it.
My question is, am I missing something with regards to why more people are not using Greenstone?
My interest rates seem fair and I've had no issues with their service.
I have farm friends who deal with local banks instead of Farm Credit (Greenstone), not really sure why.
If you own alot of land and have little to no debt, dont worry about it. BUT, if you have debt and are easily liquidated, FCS will throw you under the bus like others have said for their own cash flow purposes. I am gladly paying 7.5% interest with a small town banker who knows what farming is all about, because he farms himself. I glady give up the patronage for peace of mind.
You dont know sh*t if you havent been through the sh*t.
IMO, do yourself a favor and get a real banker and not a loan sales person or officer. |
