Beresford, SD | 9 wts.....seems the big boys like'em. I like a smooth 6 wt steer or a mid 5 heifer.......more of a chance for me to convert my feed pile into cash. Real light calves (4wts) just seem to have a higher percentage of dinks, have stayed away from them the last few years, takes forever to put on the first 100 pounds and never have a good pay weight when finished. Ranch steers coming in this year varied from 505 pound bawlers back in Nov. to a set of weaned 701 around the 1st of the year. The sisters were back an average of 45 pounds on all the sets.
