This is basically what the banks did in the 1980s. Foreclosed on folk that had a bit of positive balance, or even called in loans early from folk that were quite solid, and then wrote off the bad loans and forgave loans to those in so deep they would never see light.

10 years later the bad farmers with the forgiven loans had a leg up on everyone else and they tend to be the big time wheeling and dealing family operators in the neighborhoods to this day. It is why you still see the term ‘Big Time Operator’ and the disgust for those families.

You really couldn’t set foot in any bank I guess as it was standard operating procedure, banks mismanage and stick their accounts way too far out, when it implodes they all cover their rears by stealing from the good people. It is what banks do.
