Glenwood and Pacific Junction Iowa - Plattsmouth Nebraska Flooding

Talked to a friend that lives and farms near the US 34 and I-29 interchange. Glenwood Iowa. On the river bottom.

Donnie has not been living in the house for several days. House is built on a mound, but water is in basement.

Machinery was all moved to higher ground, But he said it was just barly high enough.

Still has quite a bit of last years crop still in the field. High river level last fall. He got more crop out in January than all fall.
Big wind storm a few years ago got most of his buildings, last years crop still in field,
Donnie is getting good at Farming Insurance.

Pictures are from Google Earth.
Upper has Plattesmouth in lower left. Red arrow is my friend’s place.
Green arrow is John Deere dealer.

Second is a closer view. Motel at Yellow arrow is where I was a couple weeks ago for the Omaha farm show. Donnie said - ‘Up to the eves’
In 2011 the water was up the the motel foundation, but building stayed dry.
Assume Loves and BP stations both underwater.

Deere dealer, Agrivision is the one in the video of post down a ways.
