WC Mn/Dakotas | If you cant or havnt grown 200 bu corn, i surely wouldnt fertilize for it. Fertilize for 150-160 if thats what you think you can do. Probably if your trying to raise o.m. by growing corn, that means you dont have high residue previous crops that will be breaking down and releasing any quantity of nutrients like if you had a corn history. This means you need to fertilize for more than just crop removal especially when some of your p and all of your k is low. You need to be able to grow x amount of corn. N will be the biggest single input, but if p and k are limiting, n for 200 corn will be a total waste.
I would use the strip till and planter to band as much as possible and take advantage of those banded and well placed nutrient efficiencies | |
