Just do your job and be friendly. The friendships will develop as you go. Don't be standoffish. It isn't any different than being with people anywhere else. There's good ones and sometimes the not so good ones, same as anywhere else. Just ease into it- you'll survive, and probably enjoy the comradery.
You do realize that now you're one of "them", right? :-)
