I know you did not want a flasher but you could tuck one of these automotive style flashers anywhere along the way to the light where it would not be visible even under the dash somewhere.

It's how I got a flashing amber warning light on a 52 8N for mowing road ditches.

Might have issues with a regular auto style flasher working with the LED though ?
