Central Missouri
This isn't the popular answer for the farmer but this is the reality of where we are at.

It costs about $130/row for an e set or v set. The e set has been out since about 2002 (17 years).

I think most seed companies feel that if a farmer can't afford (or have the desire to upgrade) to a 15 year old technology, than that farmer is probably not their target customer.

Then it's up to the DSM and it dealer to match up the best they can. I know one year my largest selling hybrid came in all in one truck and was all one lot number and seed size. If you didn't like medium flat it was a tough deal. I see this being the case more often in the future.

Personally for finger pickup planters I don't see how you will ever be able to get the exact seed size you need in every hybrid you want to plant if you farm a significant amount of acres.
