Subject: RE: Water Pressure

West Texas

When I installed a sprinkler system in my yard, I knew how much water the well would pump and I just put enough sprinklers on each segment to equal 75% of that flow rate. The well is about 400 feet from from the control valves.  Turned them on and the pressure tank would reach cutoff pressure long before the pressure reached the sprinklers so the pump would continuously shut off and on. I gradually increased the pump pressure until I could get a steady flow at which time the well would then settle into a steady flow at a much lower pressure. I installed pressure regulators on the line going into the house and the stock tanks. The pressure on my pressure tank at the well house I 95 lbs but I only get 45 lbs at the house .  If the pressure switch at the pump is clicking off and on  while running the water in the house, an increase in the pressure would definitely help.
