I've put blends down with a box drill before. It's hard to get more than 125-150# down if you're only using half your openers. If your GP has the gear box to speed up the meters you could get way more out. Or just gear it up. It will gum up if it's damp or even humid over 60-70%. MAP doesn't gum as bad as DAP. Spray with diesel first if you want the thing to last more than 2 years, clean/wash up good and move meters through their full stroke of adjustment a couple times and wash again.

I like blending in with small grains, except for having to fill twice as much. Been using one drill for straight fertilizer or blended with seed for 4-5 years now and it still hasn't rusted up.
