| The valve is known as a counterbalance valve. It serves a couple of main purposes. One of which is to help keep the lift cylinders working together equally. Without it, you run the risk of the center lift cylinders retracting faster than the wing cylinders when lowering, which can cause the air ingestion in the system and make it lift and lower unevenly. It also acts as a safety. If you have a hose rupture between the valve and the tractor, the valve will hold the implement up. I would not recommend removing it. | |
