I had to go under a transmission line that was doing that to check hogs, kinda makes you pucker thinking about what happens if it broke. There was one cross broke right up the road on the three phase on my way out in the morning, on my way back home at noon there was another broke. Power stayed on though.



I was told if you HAD to cross under, to cross as close to the pole as possible, because the wire 'usually' broke at the insulator, and being right next to the pole was the least likely place for the wire to fall. I still doubt that it would be considered 'safe' though.
