I'm told palpation becomes more difficult at certain stages of pregnancy.

I don't sell anything on a palp call. If called open we now do a blood test to confirm before selling the heifer or cow.



They were ultrasounded. She should have been called 110+ days. He's been accurate on his day figures for several years for me. Wonder what it was that crossed him up. This cow last calved in late November of 17. Kept her away from a bull in hopes of putting her back in sync of calving in the spring since she's young and weaned her calf in March last year. She was fat as a tick this summer and I was disappointed she came up open in the fall. Maybe she was too fat?
