Anamoose, ND | Current sprayer set up is a Apache 1210 with Raven components, Ez guide 500 with Ez-boom for guidance, rate control and auto shut off. I am growing dry beans which require a pre-emerge chemical application. Our soils are not very consistent which can lead to chemical burn in the light soil areas when we do a flat rate across the whole field. I was thinking there may be a advantage to do variable rate pre-emerge. What would it take to set my sprayer up to do this? Integra monitor and liquid control module? If this would work for pre-emerge it could very well work for our fungicide applications on dry beans also. The fungicide runs close to if not over $20 per acre and in most cases it is the most productive parts of the field that benefit the most, the hilltops and light soil areas could easily get a reduced rate. I think I could also use the variable rate ability on my spring wheat acres when it comes to top dressing wheat with 28% and stream bars. | |
