If your basing your manure application rates on pictures of manure spread, you are not going to be very accurate. Just go weigh your spreader full and then empty, and then measure the width and length of your normal spread. That will give you tons/acre. Oh, then get a manure test as well ($25 usually). I have don't this many times for farmers as a NRCS Employee. NRCS/SWCD can help you too.
