Subject: Cleaning out bolt holes for saddle tank mount on JD 8410

Evansville, WI
Trying to mount a set of saddle tanks on our JD 8410. The bolt holes have had some rust or other build up over the years. Only way to get tank mount bolts in and tight is to hammer back and forth for a long time with impact wrench. They are the correct bolts. Have tried a lot of PB blaster penetrating oil, brake clean, compressed air, and using a pick to clean out threads... the pick seems to work the best. But its a real slow process. Any one have a trick for cleaning that gunk out... worried about it being pretty hard on the bolts hammering them back and forth to get to sink in all the way. Would try chasing threads with tap, but dont have a metric one that size, maybe have to get one.
