Scribner, NE | If everyone got rid of the cows, what are you going to do with the land base? If rented, easy to give it up. But if you own it, how are you going to pay the taxes? Much of the grazed land is not well suited for other purposes, except maybe leased hunting... (last comment inserted for humor) I don't know about other states, but the "tax me" state of Nebraska would not be affordable to let land just sit there not generating income. Maybe I should just go back to watching my favorite movie "Grumpier Old Men"! | |
