A simple question when trump demanded that NAFTA be redone did he consult with anybody in Congress, let alone anybody on the other side of the aisle ?
He simple stated that it was the worst deal ever and demanded changes, then slapped on steel tariffs on and told the rest of the world just sit back and watch.
now they( the Dems ) are suppose take the lead in passing it.
I my world that is not leadership maybe it is in your world.
Its kind of like the 25 year old son coming home and telling his old man that he knows everything and the old man is a Idiot, so I went out and ordered a whole new line of equipment and bought a couple of qtrs of land and O by the way dad you need to mortgage all of your and Grandpa's land to pay for it.
Interesting analogy, not sure how it applies to usmca. My congressman is a d. Sat in his office a couple of days ago, he agreed nafta needed updating. Now I can tell you how he votes on this will be predetermined by democratic leadership. Yes it does sit squarely on verbal support from the other side of the aisle, because without that the deal will not be introduced. |
