| After Hanoi, Xi isn't interested in coming here until the deal is cast in concrete. He's not going to come here and let trump try to strong arm him with threats.
Like Gary Cohen says, trump desperate for a deal but he hasn't admitted to himself yet that it won't be the deal he wants, he won't be the winner. Xi will let trump fret & stew for while more until he's ready to give it up. The danger is that trump will ever accept the reality and take what he get as opposed to what he wants.
You see the thing is, even trump understands now that he can't exercise his ultimate threat and as long as he doesn't China wins. They get to continue to export to us while our exports are essentially stopped. | |
