If true the other side of the equation is that, in order to not lose weight, that cow needs 1500W worth of hay input calories. It is amazing how well outwintering cows can come through months of temps never getting above freezing if they take in enough btu's in hay. Even down to our recent -32F temps and -50F windchills. But that is a lot of hay input. |
