Subject: RE: Cow Sloppy in the Guts

NC Indiana
We had had this cow do this last summer. Vet ended up coming out and we put a cut in her side where her abdomen and underline meet big enough to get his arm in her. We got several 5 gallon buckets of fluid out of her and some dead blood clots. We left it open and filled her full of meds. He said he had one neighbor one time had a dairy cow with about 50 gallons in her.

Edit - typed message on computer, but pic on phone

edit 2 - Vet originally thought she might have gotten a thorn in her side as I first noticed this as a baseball size knot on her about mid rib and grew to a football size mass then took off to what you see in the pictures. He thought she would be full of infection but fluid was clear, odorless, and tested neutral. Speculated she got ruffed up at a feeder which started a blood blister.
