Don't listen to the stupid remarks about using one for a clothes rack and crap like that. If you are committed to actually using one and put it in the proper space it won't be a problem.
Get something with a 20" to 22" wide belt and a walking board that is 60" long. Look for one that has a cushioning system and a minimum of a 3 horse motor. Unfortunately it is getting very difficult to buy a decent quality treadmill that is not loaded down with electronic gadgets and options that most people don't need or want. I ran into this when I bought my last treadmill. I would probably have been money ahead to have bought a commercial unit because I think I am on about my fourth one in the last 15 years. I put on about 1800 to 2000 miles a year.
