A long time ago I heard the story ( said to be true as told by the dairyman who told it) of the inspector arriving at a farm just as the dairyman was finishing shoveling some manure from the floor of his small 6 or 8 stanchion milk barn. (Small milk barns like that were very common in the southeastern US then, most being built in the late 1930's ,40's and into the early 50's.) It was winter and as he pitched the manure into the pile daily, it was freezing and getting taller each day.
The inspector asked " What are you doing with that manure ?"
Dairyman replied, " I'm building an inspector but I've run out of S _ _ _ ."
Inspector said , " You move that right now!"
