Do a response trial for boron for a couple years to see if it is actually needed. Too many chase ideas and don't confirm.

We add B on SOME of our light soils for corn and beans. That is loamy sands and some low OM sandy loams. We have confirmed defic there and need it. Always add it once a year at a lb per acre on alfalfa.

Be careful near seed. Probably OK if you are 2" away from the seed. I would just spray as solubor to trial it...
