south central Nebraska | after losing a few trowels and other digging tools while planting last year Dad showed up with a hand full of homemade trowels cut from old disk blades. Here's version 3.0 It's not fancy but works well and is very easy to make in a couple minutes. We used a plasma cutter to cut this out of an old true-vee opener. They are alot sharper and lighter than disk blades. The notch is cut to fit in the seed trench for easier measuring of seed depth. I ground down the opposite end so I can dig pretty aggressively with it and not cut the palm of my hand. I just wanted to share this in case anyone else finds themselves planting alot of digging tools with their seed every year:)
