Subject: Any NATer's from Ireland???

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
St. Patrick's Day is next Sunday. I don't think I have ever seen anyone from Ireland post on New Ag Talk.

Thanks to my mother's interest in genealogy in the 1970's, I am able to trace half of my genes back to between Clogher and Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, Ireland. My grandmother, and her sister, came to Iowa in Feb. 1915, re-uniting themselves with their two older brothers who came in 1911 and 1914 (their remaining 4 younger siblings remained in Ireland). My grandfather on the other side of my family came from the same area of County Tyrone.

What is really unique (granted, only to me and my cousins) is that all 4 siblings that immigrated from Ireland married here and settled on farms within 1-2 miles of each other north of Pierson, Iowa, and lived out the rest of their lives as neighbors.

I would enjoy reading about anyone else's family stories from Ireland that they would care to share.
