Is it possible to service the shaft mount air clutch without removing the shaft? Usually have just pulled the shaft but was hoping to skip that step this time



OK, this is no doubt not OSHA approved, but if you have a hydraulic drive then you can do what i do.

Put in a manual speed and let planter shaft run, take out vent and while turning spray liberally with non chlorinated brake cleaner, if you have someone to help turning them off and on while doing this i think helps more. Once you feel you have flushed all the dirt out let them dry completely. then give them a shot of silicone spray while turning them again. Then remove air line and put in a drop or two of the bimba oil , turn them off and on a few times and you are good to go.
