Subject: RE: Show Us Your Clocks

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
My grandparents on my father's side were married Jan. 1, 1920 here in Northwest Iowa, and received this mantle clock as a wedding gift from my grandmother's brother and his wife.

I remember it sitting on top of our TV set when I was growing up in the 1960's-kept perfect time. My wife couldn't stand the ticking sound, so you know what happened after that-it hasn't run in 35 years.

A very good friend of mine has his grandparent's clock on display in their house, similiar design, similiar generation time frame-must have been a common gift back then. I wonder what they cost in 1920?
