Big calves and twins pull a cow down and the bigger they get the harder it is to get the cow bred back. Same logic as pulling the calves off 48 hours before breeding. With my AI system I've had good luck breeding a cow raising twins on the first heat cycle post partum. Waiting longer is about 50-50.
Graft a 2 week old calf?
