East central South Dakota
Maybe...we have 2 feet of snow on the ground currently. We are forecast for 2 inches of rain in the next 48 hours. Unless that is the end of the moisture until about June 10, we WILL have good amount of prevent plant in eastern SD. Consider the wet fall the SoDak Farms had last year, coupled with 24-40" of snow on the ground and 2" of rain, that does not make for fence row to fence row planting.

Im not an alarmist by any means, this system can and may weaken. Im glad I'm not in the big snow area, they are talking 12-20" of snow in places with 50 mph winds. The rain areas here are some of the better corn ground in the state. The areas the pro farmer crop tour hits and others. Maybe its not prevent plant but its not may 1 but may 20? What does that do to yield down the road? Maybe nothing with a perfect year?

To say that its a non issue or moot point at this juncture is easy from 2000 miles away, but for a large part of south dakota, nebraska, iowa, minnesota and kansas this is a real system coming in.
