southern MN | I wonder about China on this.
A railroad implies grain facilities and with that comes storeage along the route of the railroad, in the interior of the country.
This would lead to Brazilians storing some of their crop and waiting for better prices over the year.
My understanding is Brazil now harvests their crop and fire sales it to any waiting ship because they do not have any signifigant storeage available.
I would think China is interested in more production in Brazil, but would they want to change the pricing dynamics of that crop? The rail line might be a negative for what China hopes to accomplish?
My impression is that Brazil is so corrupt when it comes to public works on the interior of their country the money disappears before anything actually happens? Maybe this time is different.
