Strathcona, mn | I am so glad I have an employee! After getting hurt 2 weeks ago and looking at being wheelchair bound for 10-12 weeks my employee is the most valuable asset in the farm. Without him, I would be done farming this year, period. I can’t even get to my shop, yet he trudges on daily. I have always looked at my employees as risk management tools. What happens if I get hurt? Well, my worst case scenario happened. With my full time employee and my part time help we should make it through. I pay him dearly as he is the best I have had around, but he is worth every dollar of it and so much more on a personal level. Just a different perspective.... oh, he was there when I fell and hauled me to the hospital. So many tasks we do daily are dangerous and working as a pair/team is a safety consideration in itself. | |
