NW Iowa | I wish your wife the best and I pray the doctors can help her recover. A year and a half ago my wife’s sister went through surgery to remove a brain tumor by the brain stem, followed with radiation of the part of the tumor they couldn’t get and four more small tumors. The doctors warned the brain will swell from the radiation and cause short term memory loss. He said the memory loss might go away or it might stay for life. By luck, she had very little if any memory loss but her personality did change. She is now more judgmental and critical of others. We all know the reason for the personality change so we go with the flow and let her talk. Her appetite went away and now she weighs 89 pounds. My wife and I have taken her to cancer treatments 125 miles up and 125 miles back every three weeks for six years so we have an intimate view of what this hideous cancer can do to a person. Again, you have my prayers. | |
