Just playing devils advocate here. What happens if a calf goes under the wire and takes off. Cow jumps wire and tears it down. May not happen but maybe it could? I've had pairs leave a pretty good tree grove in a blizzard and pile up in a corner. Not pretty. Don't know where you live so don't know what kind of weather you get.
