South Central MN
To compare "here" (your mileage may vary...)

A nearby large town with manufacturing jobs starting pay at large companies is in the $16-22/hr. range, depending on the company and skills required. A smaller business could be as low as $12 but not very common. This is not easy work for most positions, some people won't even work for the pay given because "It's too hard!" Those that do end up with a good paying job although they might pay for it years down the road with a bad back.

I think seasonal farm help in the $13-20/hr. range but could be off, just guessing as that is what I might consider offering someone but not in that position yet. Most of the stuff wouldn't be too labor intensive just long hours.
